Community Service Awareness Committee

Why should you get involved? Why is there a need for such committee? Look at what's going on in the world. At every moment, there are events that are causing havoc among people and they are just not enough resources... or are there? Look at the response to the floods in Pakistan... 1/5th of the country is underwater and the country is still being condemned for being a nation filled with corruption. Is that the fault of the millions that are homeless? Is that the fault of a child who's going to be swarmed with water-borne diseases due to the lack of resources?

If you want to help a cause, don't complain about it - do something about it. Just this month, MLID reached 96 countries and 1.5 million views. If we can inform the world about the awareness of some of the issues, we will do more than just make people smile through these stories. We will really make a difference. Everyone is welcome to join.. deadline to submit is September 15th.

Today, my mom told me to look up "vagina clinic" on Google. Confused, I asked her to repeat it. After 10 minutes of confusion, she got frustrated and wrote it down for me. Apparently my mom doesn't realize that there is a difference between "vagina clinic" and "Vezina clinic". MLID

Today, my family went to a restaurant in Queens, and upon double checking whether the food was halal, we were told, "Oh yes! Even the pork is halal!" Needless to say, we got out of there pretty quick. MLID

Today, my parents asked me what my top choice for college was. Since I want to major in economics, I said, "the University of Chicago". My parents were STUNNED and said, "Beta, we thought you were so smart...why do you want to go to a school for black people?" I still think they do not know that UChicago is one of the best schools for economics, despite being in Chicago. MLID.
