Today I finally realized that all those stories about 15/16 year olds getting rishta proposals at desi gatherings, are actually NOT fake. I got 4 in 2 days while I was at a jilsah (religious gathering) in VA. One of them is a 25 year old doctor, and my mom actually considered the proposal. She's asked the guy's mom if the are willing to wait a few years until I finish highschool. I'm terrified.

OP here! Thanks for the sympathy guys, it's appreciated a lot :) If you are wondering, I flat out refused my mom. I'm not even ready to think about marriage for another 10 years. The guy I marry will be someone I want to spend my life with not some doctor that my parents like. Plus, his mom would've been a terrible saas :P

i was 13 when i got one, but it's only because they thought i was in my twenties. sometimes people just can't tell. but it's kind of weird that your mom actually considered it.
